The real effort for Haiti. Let's condone his debt.

To the urgency of the emergency humanitarian aid, IU adds the need to look for real solutions so that Haiti goes out of the economic underdevelopment and of infrastructures in the one that is.

The provincial Executive of IU, and in his name his Coordinator Luis Ángel Aguilar, they have done publicly his samples of solidarity and support to the Haitian people that it has seen like his country and especially cardinal Port-au-Prince has been destroyed by one of the most devastating earthquakes known up to the date and that has provoked thousands of dead persons and innumerable injured men and harmed.
“Now the principal problem is in the distribution of the help to the Haitian village in these moments of infinite suffering and we call so that persistence and solidarity is answered promptly, by means of the different initiatives that are articulated and developing both from the ONG, and of organisms and institutions”, he declared Aguilar. The Coordinator of IU has informed that his representatives in the Town halls are presenting initiatives to look for the economic and civil implication of his respective fellow citizens, and has put the example of Almansa and cenizate where his councilmen were going to specify proposals of collaboration with the Haitian people.

Provincial Pero Coordinator of IU has not remained in the conjuncture of the emergency help and has declared that “the horror of the tragedy was preceded of the tragic situation of a country that accumulates years of poverty and of corruption”. “The grade of destruction that has reached the earthquake in Haiti is a fruit mostly of the situation of plundering, occupation and impoverishment that the Haitian people has suffering for decades. The impacts of the domination imposed by means of the foreign debt, the free trade, the imposition of an industrial and exporting agricultural model, the plundering of his nature and the invasion of transnational interests, they have aggravated undoubtedly the vulnerability of the country before the natural disasters”, has added Luis Ángel Aguilar.
“This tragedy exceeds the borders of Haiti, being a responsibility of the international community to give an immediate answer of help to the victims and of resources and politics in short and medium term that they contribute, with all the means that the reality demands, so that the Haitian village could reconstruct its own country and future free of the dominations and dependencies that so much have marked his life”, he noticed Aguilar. “We cannot allow that to be made use of this tragedy by those who have always thought about how to break this will, to impose a reconstruction to way and resemblance of his mean interests”, added the IU leader.
“We are claiming the prime minister, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, the immediate remission and without conditions of the foreign debt that Spain has with Haiti, which one calculates round 30 million euros and in this sense we sign the corresponding campaign of: Who owes whom?”, stood out Aguilar.
“Likewise we urge the Spanish Government whom it urges to the Inter-American Bank of Development and the International Monetary Fund, principal creditors of Haiti and of whose organs of decision the government is part, as well as to the rest of governments of the European Union and of the world, so that they proceed also with an entire, immediate and unconditional cancellation of the foreign debt of Haiti, as well as with help of emergency and substantial, unconditional and not refundable reconstruction”, the Coordinator of IU considered.
